About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for full pharmacist licensure in the United States. This program requires you to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while delivering patient care.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and perform register transactions.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, labeling, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Deliver health care services such as point-of-care testing and immunizations.
- Counsel customers under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain inventory management policies and participate in store operational meetings.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Lead with empathy and compassion when interacting with patients and colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the position is based.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently, and a negligible amount regularly.
