About the role#
This position is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates who have passed the FPGEE and TOEFL exams and are ready to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal is to prepare you for a pharmacist role through a structured learning plan. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Provide empathetic patient care while fielding medical questions and offering counseling under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify orders.
- Provide training and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Deliver patient services including immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Complete Technician Immunizer status training to support vaccine administration.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Travel to different stores within the market to work shifts as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing intern hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel across the market.
