About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal is to prepare you for a pharmacist role through a structured learning plan. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Nebraska within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow at all workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care while solving or escalating patient problems.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and processing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowed by law.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
