About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal of this program is to prepare you for a pharmacist role through a mixed modality learning plan. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams in delivering the pharmacy brand promise.
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Assist with immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
