About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacist education. This role is designed to develop your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective environment while delivering high-quality patient care. This program requires the successful completion of your internship within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with their questions or concerns.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, labeling, and managing inventory.
- Resolve third-party rejections and perform register transactions.
- Deliver healthcare services such as immunizations and testing as permitted by state regulations.
- Counsel customers under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to keep customers healthy.
- Support the pharmacy manager in training and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Participate in store operational meetings and support scheduling activities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful passage of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- The ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
