About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while building upon your existing pharmacy education. This role is designed for foreign graduates to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to pass pharmacist licensure exams. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide patient care and support pharmacy operations. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe, effective pharmacy environment and prioritize patient safety.
- Follow professional practice guidelines and maintain regulatory requirements.
- Process prescriptions, including translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Provide customer service and counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage workflow and support the pharmacy manager in developing staff.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to improve health outcomes.
- Perform immunizations once state regulations are met.
- Identify business opportunities and solutions to improve pharmacy performance.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Eligibility to immunize.
- Skills in emotional intelligence, time management, and conflict resolution.
