About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site internship for foreign pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills needed for US pharmacist licensure. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months, with the goal of obtaining state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while delivering patient care.
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and perform register transactions.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, labeling, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain in-stock inventory and coordinate staff training.
- Deliver health care services such as testing and immunizations as permitted by state regulation.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited pharmacy school.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the position is located.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
