About the role#
This role is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world pharmacy practice. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Morgantown, West Virginia. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at every workstation.
- Assist with prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide empathetic patient care by fielding medical questions, offering counseling under pharmacist supervision, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Perform basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts, processing returns, and managing medication deliveries.
- Deliver health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by training.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status to help prepare and administer vaccines.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members while maintaining self-awareness.
- Remain flexible with scheduling, including nights and weekends, and travel to other store locations as needed.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure prescription and label accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for patient and colleague interactions.
