About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site internship for foreign pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop your professional skills in a retail pharmacy setting. The program requires you to complete your internship hours within 18 months and finish all necessary pharmacist licensure processes within 120 days of completing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Complete required US internship hours.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and selecting drugs.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Lead patient care programs and support the pharmacy manager in staff development.
- Participate in store operational meetings and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Availability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
