About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-educated pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US pharmacist licensure. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months and attainment of pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Assist customers with questions, process prescriptions, and resolve third-party insurance rejections.
- Manage inventory, including putting away drug orders and maintaining stock levels.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing support staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Deliver health care services such as immunizations and testing as permitted by state regulation.
- Offer counseling to customers and direct them to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Participate in store operational meetings and coordinate staff training.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, active listening, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
