About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while developing the knowledge and skills needed for a career as a pharmacist. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide patient care and maintain a safe, effective pharmacy environment. This role requires the completion of all internship hours within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure in the state within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Model company values and demonstrate care for patients and colleagues.
- Perform tasks related to patient safety, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and perform register transactions.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Maintain inventory management policies and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Coordinate the training and development of pharmacy support staff.
- Deliver additional health care services as permitted by state regulation.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Skills in emotional intelligence, time management, and conflict resolution.
