About the role#
This internship provides foreign-trained pharmacists the opportunity to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop your clinical skills, practice management, and leadership abilities. The program is designed to prepare you for pharmacist licensure exams. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain state licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver patient care and counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Process prescriptions, including translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third party rejections and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing staff and identifying business growth opportunities.
- Greet customers professionally and assist with pharmacy and front store inquiries.
- Participate in store operational meetings and coordinate training for support staff.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, active listening, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
- Digital literacy and time management skills.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
