About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your pharmacist education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain knowledge, skills, and experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role is a full-time, paid position that requires the completion of your internship within 18 months. You must obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where you are based within 120 days of finishing your required US intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment while maintaining compliance with patient safety and regulatory requirements.
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and perform register transactions.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing drugs and monitoring compliance.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and workflow.
- Lead and support the pharmacy manager in the training and development of pharmacy support staff.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
