About the role#
As a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing education. This role is designed to develop your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance. The program requires you to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage pharmacy workflow.
- Maintain inventory and keep the pharmacy department clean and professional.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist with immunization preparation and delivery.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing staff.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve performance.
- Complete all required training programs.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, active listening, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and demonstrate emotional intelligence.
- Proficiency in customer and community engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Digital literacy and results orientation.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
