About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete the required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain your pharmacist license within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure patient safety and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and resolving third party rejections.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and workflow operations.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Facilitate a positive team culture and provide exceptional customer service.
- Participate in store operational meetings and maintain a professional pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Kentucky.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, active listening, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in time management, digital literacy, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs.
