About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while developing your skills in patient care, practice management, and leadership. This role is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to build upon your existing education and prepare for US pharmacist licensure. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide safe and effective care in a retail setting.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with their pharmacy needs.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage manual claim forms.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and ensure stock levels are accurate.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and deliver immunizations as permitted by state regulation.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Complete all required US internship hours within 18 months.
- Pass all required pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of finishing your internship hours.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in Pennsylvania.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain a regular schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
