About the role#
This internship program is designed for US Non-Accredited Foreign Pharmacy Graduates to complete required US internship hours and apply didactic learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop your knowledge and skills in preparation for a Pharmacist role. This is a full-time, on-site position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow processes at every workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing caring service.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and returns.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding pharmacy operations and patient privacy.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Foreign Graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Commitment to obtaining pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
