About the role#
This internship provides foreign pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain experience in retail pharmacy operations. The program requires you to complete your hours within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state within 120 days of finishing your internship.
What you'll do#
- Ensure patient safety and maintain a clean, professional pharmacy environment.
- Process prescriptions, including translation of SIG codes, labeling, and inventory management.
- Resolve third-party rejections and handle manual claim forms.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing support staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Participate in store operational meetings and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Provide customer service to patients in-store and at the drive-thru window.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
- High School Diploma or GED.
