About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacist education. This program is designed to develop your knowledge, skills, and professional abilities within a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective work environment while delivering care to patients.
Participants are required to complete their internship within 18 months. You must also obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing your required US intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and counting or measuring drugs.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage inventory according to company policies.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with their pharmacy or front-store needs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to improve pharmacy performance and growth.
- Deliver health care services as allowed by state regulation, such as immunization preparation.
- Participate in store operational meetings and ensure the pharmacy department remains clean and organized.
What you'll need#
- A doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in emotional intelligence, time management, and digital literacy.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs occasionally.
