About the role#
As a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school studies to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in store and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and contact prescribers to clarify orders or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Support immunization services, including preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as calculating dosage and day supply.
- Strong focus and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.

- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Schedule: Regular attendance required, including nights and weekends.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
