About the role#
The Inside Sales Engineer Intern at Crane Company supports both commercial and technical operations. You will work with internal teams, field sales, and customers to manage the full lifecycle of orders and quotations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Marion, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain relationships with Field Sales to ensure clear communication.
- Provide verbal and written quotations and track activity in internal systems.
- Analyze technical and commercial specifications to ensure bid compliance.
- Coordinate with departments like Engineering and Procurement to finalize responses.
- Manage customer Purchase Orders, including reviewing terms, pricing, and resolving discrepancies.
- Enter Sales Orders and document any subsequent changes.
- Assist with invoice and payment collection.
- Process Return Goods Authorizations and coordinate with accounting.
- Prepare bills of material using Microsoft Access.
- Use AutoCAD to generate isometric spool drawings and multi-axis shop fabrication drawings.
- Analyze design requirements and resolve issues for customers and contractors.
- Suggest and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Participate in OpEx and Quality processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to listen well and manage time effectively.
- A self-motivated, competitive, and detail-oriented approach.
- Experience working as part of a team.
- Previous experience in an Inside Sales or Customer Service environment is preferred.
