About the role#
The Gen AI Research Engineer Intern conducts primary and secondary research on healthcare informatics, focusing on Generative AI and emerging technologies for treatment, payment, and operations. You will create research papers, analytical reports, and educational materials while maintaining a deep understanding of industry trends. This role involves developing AI models, architectures, and systems to improve healthcare solutions.
What you'll do#
- Develop and improve LLMs and ML tools used across the organization.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining an Artificial Intelligence Governance Program.
- Partner with business units to provide reliable intelligence and validated technology options.
- Communicate technology updates and requirements to other departments.
- Collaborate with research and development teams, product management, and strategic analysts.
- Support technology project teams by coordinating specific tasks and daily operations.
- Assist with academic research collaborations, vendor evaluations, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Support Academic Corporate Engagement efforts to develop research and educational talent.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an advanced degree in Computer Science, healthcare, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in AI, healthcare technology, or informatics research.
- Foundational knowledge in generative AI model development, architectures, and vector databases.
- Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.
- Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure, large data sets, and building data pipelines for ML solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: Remote.
- Schedule: 20 to 40 hours per week, with a duration between one semester and one year.
- Requirements: You must provide a dedicated, secure work area, high-speed internet, and necessary office setup.
