About the role#
This internship focuses on manufacturing engineering and product integrity within the Optical Communications segment. You will work on a specific project work-stream to support product quality and data management. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Keller, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Develop tools to manage product data integrity for new product introductions.
- Analyze product designs to ensure data completeness and streamline qualification.
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts.
- Define and execute experimental plans, including setting up measurement systems and mechanical apparatus.
- Perform data collection and analysis using statistical tools.
- Evaluate product quality through testing and provide formal test reports.
- Review data to make recommendations on immediate and long-term actions.
- Maintain and improve a safe work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in an Engineering field, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Optical Science.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Availability for the full 10-week program from May 26 to July 30, 2027.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in teams.
- Interest in future full-time employment with Corning after graduation.
- Ability to work on-site in Keller, Texas.
