About the role#
As an intern, you will join an engineering team focused on optical fiber manufacturing or technology development. You will own key project objectives and work alongside various engineering and operations groups to understand how product, equipment, and process changes impact the business. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to critical project deliverables while gaining experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Design and conduct experiments using the scientific method to collect necessary data.
- Analyze process data to identify and develop improvements for products, processes, or equipment.
- Interface with cross-functional groups to establish communication, address concerns, and obtain project buy-in.
- Review performance data to draw conclusions and provide recommendations.
- Document your work and present findings to personnel at various levels of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls.
- Familiarity with engineering process fundamentals and scientific methodology.
- Ability to perform data and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of basic electronics and circuit design.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Experience with Python, C/C++, Visual Basic, HMI/SCADA, or PLC programming is a plus.

- Term: 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August).
- Modality: On-site.
