    About the role#

    This summer internship offers an opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts to improve product and information flow. You will work with manufacturing or innovation teams to increase capacity, reduce costs, and minimize complexity. The role involves performing cost and capacity studies, conducting economic comparisons, and justifying analysis for various systems and methods.

    What you'll do#

    • Engage with teams to understand workflows, identify problems, and evaluate the feasibility of solutions.
    • Perform observations and data analysis, including process flows, spaghetti maps, and capacity studies.
    • Apply Lean manufacturing methodologies to improve production.
    • Document your findings, write summaries, and make recommendations based on your analysis.
    • Present project results and conclusions to engineering and manufacturing teams.
    • Develop and execute project plans by managing resources, deliverables, and timelines.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Industrial Engineering degree program.
    • Interest in applying skills such as capacity analysis, cost modeling, and facility layout development.
    • Interest in applying Lean manufacturing concepts like Value Stream Mapping, cycle time reduction, and work cell design.
    • Ability to travel up to 25%.

    • Location: Painted Post, New York.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment Type: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $1,635.00 to $3,185.00 biweekly, depending on location and year in school.
