About the role#
We are looking for students to join our Human Resource function for a 10-week summer internship. You will work directly with HR Directors and Managers within our business divisions or Centers of Excellence. This role offers exposure to the strategies, policies, and processes that drive our HR operations. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects and gain experience in both analytical work and formal presentations.
What you'll do#
- Partner with HR and business leaders on projects in areas such as Talent Management, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Legal/ER, and Diversity Management.
- Conduct data analysis using Excel spreadsheets.
- Prepare and deliver formal presentations.
- Work both independently and as part of a group.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at a college or university.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Master’s level status (completing your first year) in ILR or HRM programs.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Prior HR-related work experience.
- Coursework in Industrial and Labor Relations, Human Resources, and Employment Law. Statistics and Accounting classes are preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional attitude, self-awareness, and a curious mindset.
- Ability to work at the specified job location.
- Interest in pursuing a career at Corning after graduation.

- Location: Corning, New York.
- Term: 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position ($1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly, based on location, position, and year in school).
