About the role#
This summer internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting automated control systems for industrial applications. Interns work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects to develop technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Support the troubleshooting and debugging of control system hardware and software under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in drafting and reviewing technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
- Help with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems on-site.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure project success.
- Conduct research on new technologies, components, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate work records and assist in preparing project reports and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram is a plus.
- Experience with CAD software is beneficial.

- Location: Canton, NY.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 27 to July 31, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.
- Eligibility: Candidates must graduate December 2026 or later and have an interest in potential full-time opportunities after graduation. This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
