About the role#
The 4-H Afterschool Student Aide supports the 4-H Youth Development program within the Watertown City School District. This role focuses on providing individualized assistance to students, including those with special needs, to help them succeed academically and socially. You will work closely with school staff, program managers, and families to create a supportive afterschool environment.
What you'll do#
- Implement and modify established 4-H educational programming.
- Provide individualized support to students to help them maintain focus and participate fully in activities.
- Assist in creating a welcoming environment for families and facilitate communication between home and school.
- Provide referrals to community programs and services as needed.
- Use a variety of delivery methods, such as workshops and family engagement events, to support youth development.
- Collaborate with the 4-H team and school district staff to identify student needs and resources.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including program evaluation, inventory management, and marketing efforts.
What you'll need#
- Associate’s Degree, or a GED/High School Diploma with one year of relevant program or functional experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter appropriate to the programming area.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Ability to meet all School Age Child Care (SACC) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) licensing requirements.
Location & details#
- Location: Watertown, New York.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Eligible for health and dental insurance, retirement, and leave time.
