The 4-H Afterschool Student Aide Educator supports youth development programs within the Watertown City School District. This role focuses on building connections between students, families, and the school community to ensure holistic support for students in grades K-12. You will work closely with program managers, site supervisors, and school district staff to provide individualized assistance to students, particularly those with special needs, helping them succeed academically and socially in a safe environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide educational programming as defined by grant applications.
- Implement or modify established 4-H Youth Development activities to support student success.
- Utilize a variety of delivery methods, including workshops, family engagement events, and direct communication, to support youth development.
- Provide individualized assistance to students with special needs to ensure they can participate fully in classroom activities and maintain focus.
- Assist in creating a welcoming school environment for families and facilitate communication between home and school.
- Collaborate with the 4-H team and school district staff to identify resources and develop learning or behavioral management plans.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including organizing program materials, tracking supplies, and supporting program evaluation efforts.
What you'll need#
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma plus 1 year of transferrable program or functional experience).
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Ability to meet all School Age Child Care (SACC) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) licensing requirements, including health screenings and training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter relevant to youth programming.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings or weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse audiences, including students, parents, and community partners.

- Location: Watertown, New York.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Part-time (20 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid position at $20.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefit package including health, dental, and retirement.
