About the role#
This internship supports the Financial Compliance and Procure-to-Pay teams. You will work on various projects and daily tasks assigned by the leadership team to gain exposure to both functions.
What you'll do#
- Prepare state indirect tax filings, including direct-to-consumer excise tax reporting and sales and use tax filings.
- Assist with state audits and government survey preparations.
- Perform T&E and P-card audits to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Support the team by responding to inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Help document procedures and controls.
- Provide system administration support for compliance tools.
- Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate major in Accounting, Business, or Finance with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Preference for candidates who have completed three years of undergraduate studies.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software, including strong Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting and finance principles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and build productive professional relationships.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based on-site in Rochester and Canandaigua, New York.
- The position follows a rolling term.
- The work environment is a professional corporate office, which requires sitting at a desk for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
