About the role#
The Retail Portfolio Operations Intern joins our Investment Resource Group in Vancouver. This position provides hands-on experience in investment operations, financial services, and process improvement. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support our retail portfolio operations.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and reconcile client portfolio data.
- Support operational systems used for portfolio administration, trade management, and reporting.
- Assist with quarter-end fee processing and operational tasks.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for management.
- Respond to routine inquiries from custodians and internal partners.
- Support account transfer documentation and processing.
- Participate in special projects and operational improvement initiatives.
- Document processes and review workflows.
- Propose ideas for efficiency using technology, automation, and AI tools.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large data sets.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Interest in using technology to improve operational processes.
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course is an asset.
- Experience with data analysis, visualization, process mapping, or automation is an asset.
- Familiarity with AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Power Automate is an asset.
- Previous experience in financial services, operations, technology, or data analysis is an asset.
