About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role offers hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team. You will assist with essential care tasks to help maintain a safe and organized environment for patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring and hygiene assistance.
- Perform hourly rounding and provide purposeful patient interactions.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Communicate with the care team during handoffs and report changes in patient conditions.
- Maintain clean workspaces and assist with the maintenance of basic equipment like scales and glucometers.
- Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying practices under the guidance of an RN.
- Uphold customer service standards with patients and families.
- Maintain regular attendance and follow all facility policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic understanding of patient care procedures and medical terminology.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and the healthcare team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Commitment to a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
