About the role#
The Safety Engineering Intern supports the EHS program at Combined Metals Company, LLC. You will work alongside the EHS Manager to protect and improve workplace safety through specific projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform annual audits for confined spaces, hazardous chemical inventories, and lockout tagout procedures.
- Observe daily operations to review and update Job Safety Analyses.
- Identify potential hazards and establish control measures or safe work practices.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an upper classman undergraduate, recent graduate, or graduate student in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
- Clear verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- High attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site at our facilities in Elgin, Hampshire, Sycamore, and Bellwood, Illinois.
