About the role#
As a Mechanical Intern at the Wharf gold mine, you will gain hands-on experience by contributing to mining projects. This role provides exposure to various aspects of mining operations, offering a view of the sector while you work on projects that have a real impact on the operation.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the development of mining projects.
- Work on projects that make a difference to the operation.
- Collaborate with other interns to create a group presentation that identifies an area for company improvement.
- Present your group project to company leaders.
- Network with company leaders and fellow early career participants.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong academic performance in relevant coursework.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow all procedures and safety measures to ensure safe production.
- Ability to work in all conditions and environments, including spending varying amounts of time outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Ability to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily.
