About the role#
CNA is seeking interns for a 10-week summer program in 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship based in our Chicago office. You will work within our Actuarial organization, with potential placements in Pricing, Reserving, Portfolio Management, or Long Term Care. Housing assistance is available for qualifying candidates based on their distance from the office.
What you'll do#
- Complete practical Actuarial assignments under the guidance of a dedicated manager.
- Attend learning sessions with senior staff to explore various insurance industry topics.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation as part of your professional development.
- Participate in social networking events to connect with fellow interns and full-time staff.
- Engage in specialized training sessions tailored for actuarial interns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Pursuit of a degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the Actuarial exam process.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship or visas.
- A GPA of 3.25 or higher is preferred.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: Hybrid schedule, typically three days in the office and two days remote.
- Compensation: The national base pay range for this role is $35,000 to $65,000 annually, with higher hourly rates available for students who have passed one or more exams.
