About the role#
The Summer Associate role provides an immersive experience in Clark’s core business operations. You will work alongside project leadership to safeguard the financial health and operational success of developments ranging from 20 million to over 1 billion dollars. This full-time program spans 8 to 10 weeks and offers hands-on experience through jobsite tours and professional development activities.
What you'll do#
- Manage project accounting tasks including owner and subcontractor requisition processing, accounts payable, and field payroll.
- Support project financial health by preparing cost reports, monitoring cash flow, and assisting with monthly financial forecasts.
- Handle administrative duties like equipment inventory monitoring, lien waiver and insurance administration, and project setup or closeout.
- Monitor key performance indicators and reconcile change orders.
- Assist with internal audit resolution and small business tracking.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high degree of reliability and attention to detail.
- Experience with SAP, Textura, Coupa, or Google platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment that requires flexibility and responsiveness.
Location & details#
- This position is based in McLean, Virginia.
- This is an on-site, full-time role requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- You will spend time in both office settings and active construction sites.
- The role is physically demanding and requires navigating job sites, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in various weather conditions.
- A pre-employment drug screening is required, and the company conducts random drug testing.
