About the role#
The Summer Associate program is a full-time, 8 to 10-week immersive experience for students interested in the construction industry. You will be embedded with a team on a jobsite or within a department to gain hands-on experience in project management, field operations, and business development. You will also participate in the Capstone Project, the Passport Experience, and Clark Corporate University learning requirements.
What you'll do#
- Review gross billings, track change orders, and manage subcontractor requisitions.
- Handle submittals, RFIs, and the material tracking process.
- Plan field installations with subcontractors and monitor tradeworkers for quality and safety.
- Assist with site logistics and schedule management.
- Resolve challenges related to installation and trade partner coordination.
- Review contract documents and evaluate subcontractor bids.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare bid proposals.
- Quantify labor and material prices.
- Collaborate on subcontractor agreements and manage relationships.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, specifically in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- A genuine interest in the construction industry.
- Ability to work in a high-performance environment that may require extended hours.
- Effective communication skills.
- Visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work.
