About the role#
The Safety Summer Associate role offers hands-on field experience in the construction industry. You will work alongside safety and operational leaders to support the health and well-being of team members and craft workers on our jobsites. This full-time, 8-10 week program runs from late May or early June through the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Execute corporate and project-specific safety and health programs.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by coaching and mentoring trade partners and internal team members on occupational health and safety requirements.
- Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor safety compliance.
- Track metrics and assist in reporting project safety performance.
- Partner with field superintendents and project leadership to plan for high-risk operations, including crane lifts, fire prevention, hazardous material handling, and site evacuation strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university bachelor's degree program for Occupational Health and Safety.
- A genuine interest in the construction industry.
- Ability to work in an active, hands-on environment that requires navigating uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders.
- Comfort with physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and environments, including active construction sites and standard office settings.
