About the role#
This position is for students currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-operative engineering program. You will provide engineering support within the Planning, Development and Building Department for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, on-site role based at City Hall in Ottawa.
What you'll do#
- Perform specific assignments that provide technical engineering support.
- Conduct research and categorize findings.
- Manage databases and perform data analysis.
- Prepare reports and present information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in a recognized co-operative engineering program (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering).
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
- Ability to analyze information and draw logical conclusions.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Excel, Word, and Corel Draw.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical research skills.
- Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic concepts is considered an asset.
- English language proficiency in oral, reading, and writing skills.

- Location: City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, Ontario.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week).
- Requirement: Proof of enrolment in a co-op program is required at the time of application.
