About the role#
The City of Conroe Police Department is looking for a part-time Administrative Intern. This role is open to undergraduate or graduate students interested in police work, criminal investigations, or the criminal justice system. You will earn $17.42 per hour. The position is on-site at the Conroe Police Department.
What you'll do#
You will assist with various administrative and operational tasks as assigned by your police supervisor. The work is primarily sedentary but requires the ability to move objects up to 10 pounds and perform physical tasks like walking, reaching, and kneeling when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current college student graduating within the upcoming year, majoring in Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field.
- You should have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to stay calm when dealing with aggressive or hostile individuals.
- We look for candidates who are self-motivated and maintain a high level of accuracy in their work.
- You must demonstrate strong moral and ethical behavior at all times.
- Employment is contingent on passing a background check, a pre-employment substance abuse screening, and an FBI Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check. You must maintain CJIS eligibility throughout your internship. A motor vehicle record check and a physical exam may also be required.
