About the role#
This Summer Associate role is part of the Financial Management Associate (FMA) program at Citi. It is a ten-week internship designed for students pursuing an MBA or Master's degree. The program serves as a pipeline for future Corporate Finance leaders by providing exposure to various disciplines including Treasury, Controllers, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis, and business-aligned Chief Finance Offices. You will work on projects aligned with Citi Finance objectives and report to professionals who provide leadership direction.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside senior managers in key finance disciplines.
- Champion financial performance and strategic execution.
- Generate value and optimize resources.
- Accelerate finance transformation and controls.
- Develop people and culture.
- Complete projects designed to test your skills and add value to the business.
- Attend orientation and training sessions covering banking topics, technical finance, accounting, and communication skills.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- At least 3 years of significant, full-time professional experience.
- Strategic, analytical mindset with a global perspective.
- Initiative, creativity, and professional maturity.
- Resiliency and a growth mindset.
- Sense of urgency, sound judgment, and confidence.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build lasting business relationships.
- Knack for process improvement.
- Technical proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Demonstrated interest in Data Analytics, Database Management, Information Systems, or Digital Technology.
