About the role#
As a WaveLogic Software Intern, you will join our team to gain hands-on experience with next-generation optical networking technologies. This role involves contributing to embedded software solutions that support service provider networks. You will build technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Develop expertise in network solutions using optical transport and switching technologies like OTN and Ethernet.
- Design, develop, validate, and document advanced networking features for embedded software applications.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve embedded software issues by finding root causes and implementing fixes.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to design, develop, and test next-generation modem technologies.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with C and C++ programming.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, device drivers like GPIO and I2C, and Linux or RTOS operating systems.
- Understanding of memory management, synchronization, interrupt handling, and inter-process communication.
- Strong verbal and technical writing skills with a self-motivated, positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and seek answers independently.
- Familiarity with tools such as Git, Eclipse, JIRA, Confluence, GDB, and Yocto is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Go, or BASH scripting is a plus.
- Understanding of datacom and telecom concepts like DWDM, TCP/IP, and hardware timing diagrams is helpful.
