About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in grain origination at our Selby, South Dakota location. You will work directly with our Grain Originator to engage with local producers, secure grain, and develop marketing strategies. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Procure grain from local producers and reach out to new accounts.
- Assist with reporting and ensure all purchasing contracts are typed accurately and quickly.
- Help the Grain Originator with rail billing and grain sales settlements.
- Provide customer service to patrons in a professional manner.
- Observe and learn how to update producers on market trends and assist in forming marketing plans.
- Partner with elevator and office staff to support the flow of grain.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture Business, Crop Science, or related degree program.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Background knowledge or experience in agriculture is very helpful.
