About the role#
CHS Inc. is looking for a Rail Transportation Intern to join the Grain Marketing Rail Services group for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Communicate daily with internal departments and partner railroads.
- Process rail shipment documents including bill of ladings by compiling, filing, and sorting data.
- Assist merchandisers with diversions and rebill requests.
- File and negotiate loss and damage claims on railcars and products.
- Monitor rail billing data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Track and trace shipments to ensure billing is active.
- Coordinate the reduction of overloaded or unbalanced railcars.
- Maintain a strong safety culture by following all policies and reporting workplace hazards.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Accounting.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Accurate keyboarding, 10-key, and data entry skills.
- Ability to work overtime, including evenings or weekends.
