About the role#
This Engineering/Operations internship provides technical support to our ethanol facility in Rochelle, Illinois. You will work to ensure equipment reliability and performance while meeting safety, environmental, and economic guidelines.
What you'll do#
- Participate in mechanical equipment design and inspection data analysis.
- Conduct fitness for service evaluations and develop equipment repair plans.
- Perform materials selection and root cause failure analysis.
- Troubleshoot equipment performance and recommend maintenance actions.
- Work with Process Engineers to design and install plant improvements.
- Identify and report safety, health, and environmental issues.
- Complete projects involving equipment specifications, integrity evaluations, research investigations, and report writing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in a Mechanical, Agriculture, Electrical, Chemical, or Bio-Chemical program at an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators.
- Previous internship experience in the ethanol or oilseed industries.
