About the role#
As a Crop Scout Intern, you will work directly with our customers to monitor field conditions and provide insights that support crop performance. This is a paid, full-time internship based in Grand Forks, North Dakota, running through the winter and summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Scout fields to monitor crop health, growth stages, pest pressure, weed presence, and disease symptoms.
- Record and report field observations using company systems and scouting tools.
- Assist agronomists with crop protection and nutrient product recommendations based on your field data.
- Identify insects, weeds, and plant diseases that affect crop performance.
- Maintain accurate records of scouting routes, findings, and follow-up actions.
- Provide customer service to growers and CHS staff.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety guidelines while working in the field.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Ag Business, Crop Science, or other agriculture-related degree program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- A basic understanding of crop production practices, pests, weeds, and diseases.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills.
