About the role#
This internship supports the Community Health team at Children's Hospital Colorado. It is designed for a student pursuing a Master of Public Health, specifically for a capstone or practicum project. You will assist with the development of Community Health Implementation Strategies for the Denver Metro and El Paso County regions. The role offers hands-on experience in a professional environment with close supervision.
What you'll do#
- Conduct an environmental scan of regional initiatives addressing community health priorities.
- Build an inventory of internal programs that support these health priorities.
- Create logic models to connect activities with health outcomes.
- Help develop goals, objectives, and activities for priority areas.
- Identify outcome measures and data collection methods to track progress.
- Use the Metopio platform to explore community health indicators and identify disparities.
- Assist with project coordination, meeting preparation, and tracking progress.
- Collect, enter, and verify data while producing basic summaries and reports.
- Draft and maintain process documentation, job aids, and forms.
- Conduct research and summarize findings for the team.
- Provide general administrative support, including file management and drafting communications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college program or recent graduation from high school or college.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and complete tasks with high attention to detail.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to ask questions when needed.
Location & details#
- Location: Aurora, Colorado.
- Modality: Hybrid. You must be available for local in-person meetings as needed.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 (January through early May 2027, with a possible late December 2026 start).
- Schedule: Part-time, 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: Hourly range of $16.25 to $24.38, depending on experience.
