About the role#
This Military SkillBridge Internship provides a transition from active duty military service to a career in commercial banking. Participants begin with a no-cost financial modeling certification program to build technical skills in Excel and financial statement modeling. Following certification, interns transition into a Credit Analyst role at a regional commercial bank.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate the financial health of businesses by analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and relevant data.
- Assess lending risk by considering industry trends, market conditions, and borrower credit history.
- Use scoring models to quantify creditworthiness and assign credit scores.
- Compile findings into detailed reports including financial ratios, risk analysis, and recommendations for loan terms or credit limits.
- Communicate with borrowers to gather information and clarify financial details.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive evaluation of applications.
What you'll need#
- 3-5 years of active duty military leadership experience, with a preference for combat arms.
- Honorable service and exemplary service evaluations.
- A passion to start a career in finance and commercial banking.
- Willingness to virtually attend and pass a no-cost financial modeling certification program prior to transition.
- Ability to leverage leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills gained through military service.
