About the role#
CFD Research Corporation is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 program. You will work within the Aerospace and Defense Solutions division on modeling and simulation projects for various aerospace applications. Each intern is paired with a mentor and a technical manager to guide their research project throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Build and use automated workflows for aerodynamic, aerothermal, thermal elastic, or blast data generation.
- Develop machine learning models to act as surrogates for full physics-based processes.
- Participate in professional development and social activities.
What you'll need#
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must be a student at the University of Alabama (Main Campus/Tuscaloosa).
- You must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.

- This is an on-site internship located in Huntsville, Alabama.
- The program is full-time and runs for 8 to 10 weeks during the summer.
