Centerstone’s Virtual Clinic offers a year-long practicum internship for first-year Master’s of Social Work (MSW) students. This role provides hands-on experience in community mental health and case management, with regular supervision provided by an LCSW and a task supervisor. Interns gain experience working with a diverse client population presenting with a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
What you'll do#
- Direct Client Work: Conduct intakes, assessments, supportive counseling, and resource navigation.
- Case Management: Maintain a small caseload, complete documentation, and assist with treatment planning.
- Group & Family Work: Participate in or co-facilitate group and family sessions.
- Community Engagement: Assist with outreach, advocacy, and policy initiatives.
- Administrative Support: Contribute to resource development and various project tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s of Social Work program (first-year placement).
- A strong interest in community mental health and case management.
- Ability to commit to 15–20 hours per week for the full academic year.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- Modality: Remote.
- Location: Tennessee.
- Schedule: Flexible 15–20 hours per week, typically spread over 2–3 days.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
