About the role#
Centerstone’s Virtual Clinic offers a year-long practicum internship for first-year Master’s of Social Work students. This role focuses on community mental health and case management. You will receive regular supervision from an LCSW and a task supervisor while gaining hands-on experience in a virtual setting. This is an unpaid internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform intakes, assessments, and recurrent case management sessions.
- Manage a small caseload and complete necessary documentation.
- Participate in treatment planning and resource navigation.
- Assist with or co-facilitate group and family sessions.
- Engage in community outreach, advocacy, and policy initiatives.
- Support resource development and various project work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s of Social Work program as a first-year student.
- Enrollment at one of the following institutions: Austin Peay State University, East Tennessee State University, Middle Tennessee State University, Southern Adventist University, Union University, Tennessee State University, The University of Memphis, or The University of Tennessee.
- A strong interest in community mental health and case management.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week for one full academic year.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is remote and requires that you live in Tennessee.
- The schedule is flexible, typically requiring 15-20 hours per week over 2-3 days between Monday and Friday.
